About Us

Easy PPL Flight Training is just one of the services offered by Easy PPL.

"If you don't land with a smile - I haven't done my job properly". That's just one of the objectives of Nigel Willson - Instructor and Examiner.

Nigel Willson has over 30 years of very relevant flying experience, right here in General Aviation. He is a flight and ground instructor and examiner for initial licences and ratings, and instructs for additional ratings, and your own experience enhancement and self-development.

He also holds Instrument, Night and Aerobatics Instructor ratings, and teaches on all types of aircraft from open-cockpit to glass-cockpit (GARMIN, AVIDYNE, MGL) for both VFR and IFR.

As well as training for the basic licenses and additional formal ratings, Nigel produces his own additional flight training such as the Advanced PPL, Formation and Short Strip courses as well as other training for non-pilots such as the Co-Pilot and FROM-FEAR-2-FLIGHT courses.

Nigel is key to being proactive and completely up-to-date with current topics within General Aviation. The Hot Topic at the moment is Controlled Airspace Infringements, and consequently Nigel has developed a short refresher course to help ensure your lience doesn't become a casualty! See the Infringement Avoidance short course.

Similarly, he produces and provides his own ground courses to a high professional standard that emphasises best practice, great tips and techniques, as well as the required theoretical knowledge (Easy PPL Ground School).

With a total time of over 5000 hours, and over 2700 instructional hours, on a huge variety of aircraft, you won't find a better instructor who has a relaxed and welcoming style to ensure you get the very best out of your time spent in the air. You won't just be taught the flying; you'll be instilled with airmanship and confidence in your own ability. Put simply, you will become a better pilot!

He is also an active aerobatic display pilot (Yak Display) and air display organiser (Great British Airshows), so you may well see him on the air show scene.
